🌍 TRANSLATION TELEPHONE

The party game where every player is fluent in nothing · a printable kit from translationmixer.com

How to Play

  1. Draw a sentence card (or everyone uses the same one — house choice).
  2. Pick your secret language chain: 5 languages, no peeking at your neighbor's. Weird languages score better than easy ones.
  3. Translate in a relay: English → language 1 → language 2 → … → back to English. Always paste the previous output, never the original. (Or use translationmixer.com and do it in one shot.)
  4. 3-minute limit. Phones down when time is called.
  5. The reveal: each player reads the original, their language path, and their result — dramatically. This part is mandatory.
  6. Vote on the awards (right). Arguing is part of the game.

The Awards

🏆 The Long Haul
Furthest in meaning from the original.
🌸 The Poet
Accidentally beautiful.
⚖️ The Lawyer
Means the opposite of the original.
🐢 The Survivor
Booby prize: came back nearly identical. Loser sings their result to a tune chosen by the group.
